Hotels of The Year 2016 by Mellow Mood Hotels 2017-02-24

The Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association has awarded the Buda Castle Fashion Hotel with the "Hotel of The Year 2016" title in the four-star Budapest hotels category. The Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace won the prize of the „Themed Hotel of The Year 2016”.

We are happy to announce that the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association has awarded our high-quality 4-star hotel, the Buda Castle Fashion Hotel with the „Hotel of The Year 2016” title in the four-star Budapest hotels category. The award has announced for the fourth time. The jury appreciated the quality of services and the team work with high importance under the competition when the prize called as the Oscar Award of Hospitality were allocated to the winner hotels. Properties had to prepare professional application credentials, which were followed up by Mystery Shoppers during a sudden visit.


The Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace won the prize of the „Themed Hotel of The Year 2016”.

Mellow Mood Hotels took part in cooking competition of Mangalica Festival, again!2017-02-14

The Mellow Mood Hotels were represented by seven teams at this year's Mangalica Festival, where our colleagues showed their high professional knowledge in a great atmosphere. The best dessert was served by the Marco Polo Ho(s)tel team and the cooking festival's prestigious first place won the team of Expo Congress Hotel. Congratulations to everyone, we'll be there next year, too!

Amongst the most influential persons in the Hungarian tourism industry in 2017 as well2017-02-02

Owners and CEOs of Mellow Mood Group, Mr. Sameer Hamdan and Mr. Zuhair Awad were selected among the 50 most influential persons in the Hungarian tourism industry, for the fourth year in a row.

On 1st February, 2017. at the 25th Season Opening Tourism Gala and Award Ceremony,

Tourism Ltd. presented its well-known publication, in which the jury of their team and 20 members of professional organisations voted again for the most influential persons in the domestic tourism sector, based on their professional work. During the selection process, not only the size and revenues of the companies were taken into consideration, but also their influence on the tourism sector and their foreign and domestic reputation.

Jury of the head persons of the major professional tourist organizations, fourth time in a row - since the release of the list every year – considered that the owners of Mellow Mood Group take place between the most influential persons in the hospitality industry.

More than 20 years ago, owners and CEOs of the most dynamically developing hotel group of the last decade, Mr. Sameer Hamdan and Mr. Zuhair Awad arrived to Hungary as students. For their achievements, today they are known as prominent members and among the most influential persons in the department.

 

The jury took the following aspects into consideration:

  • 12 operating hotels from hostel to 5-star category
  • several real estate development projects in the Hungarian capital (hotels, restaurants, premises, business centers)
  • around 500 employees
  • several foreign and domestic awards for their hotels (TripAdvisor, Hotelbeds, TrustYou, Expedia, International Hotel Awards, Best of Budapest, Turizmus Trend „Iránytű", etc.)
  • In 2010 "Tourism Investors of the Year" Award
  • In 2012 Golden Cross of Merit of Hungary
  • significant lobbying activity to support the work of the Hungarian Tourism Plc. in the Arabic region, and to support the tourism-friendly development of the 5th district of Budapest
  • corporate social responsibility
  • In 2015 Pro Tourismo Award

The past years for Mellow Mood Group were not only about the growth and stabilization, but also about the planning and preparation for the upcoming new development.

After the centralization of the organization and the number of workflows support the software development, group is ready to invest for up to 4-5 hotel expansion.

 

The hotel group’s current major project is restoring an emblematic building to its original beauty and open it for the capital: the reconstruction of the Parisi Udvar have started and it will received in 2018 with getting a worthy function as a luxury hotel with conference facilities, an elegant, lavish penthouse suit, a bar on the top floor with breath-taking view to the Buda side.

On the ground floor and first floor with cafés, restaurants and shops, in an authentical interior design.

The latest issue of the Forbes magazine in January  published an interview with the owners of Mellow Mood Hotels, Sameer Hamdan and Zuhair Awad. The article is about the story from the beginnings of the company, the first hostels, through the successes and challenges of previous years to the new projects of the future, such as the development of Paris Court and  about the amount of work behind the achievements, the company’s future and how the owners of the Mellow Mood Hotels see it.

In the 2016. year Mellow Mood Hotels support two Associations located in the V. district.

In the last year Mellow Mood Hotels supports “Segítő Kezek az Aktív Évekért” and “Fiatalok az Összefogásért Egyesület” to contribute the socially disadvantaged families and children's well-being.
